merrily merrily

i'd like to thank lady gaga for helping me clean my house, but now i can't remember my thoughts. so i suggest playing 'poker face' while you scroll through and it'll be easier to decipher.

house progress - upstairs and future windows:

guess who got put to work:

me and my moms (raddest lady EVER) at the bach:

heading to the folk fest in a car stuffed to the limits with: bags, blankets, roller blades, suitcases, coolers, 2 boys, and a dog:

we wrapped up our harry potter family marathon with the last movies and some uk nosh...and made butterbeer from this recipe (tasty but sickeningly sweet, i'd advise going light on the butter and sugar), and now we can get on with our lives and read OTHER books:

i awoke a couple of mornings ago to what sounded like a small army tearing up the house behind us. which is exactly what it was: the fire department uses houses that are set to be torn down for training. which is something i never thought about. it's also kinda sad that there used to be an old man named tony who lived there, who showed us the little replica of his house when it used to be a grocery store, who had a dog named shorty that would always get up on the roof...and many years and occupants later it's an overpriced tear-down on a tiny lot.

try getting anything done with this happening right outside your window all day!

which leads me to: this book. (thanks jessie!)

i think this will be the first (only?) 'parenting' book i will ever finish. holy crap YES! to this book. this will be my go-to gift to new parents...permission and encouragement to CHILL OUT. down with guilt and fear and judgement, and up with happy hour, naps, music, and twilight picnics at the river. I think so!

idle on!!!
